Prisoner of war, Narek Amirjanyan, was wounded, captured, and held for 70 days against his will by Azerbaijani forces. Upon his return, like many with the same fate, he was left with very few options for work, and a family that was in a poor financial position. Through money raised from our matching Emergency Relief & Reconstruction Fund, we were able to help support Narek get established with a chicken farm in the town of Ayrum where he lives.
To celebrate this new start, Paros Executive Director, Peter Abajian joined the governor of Tavush, Hayk Ghalumyan, head of the Ayrum Consolidated Community, Arayik Paranyan and member of Parliament Hayk Sargsyan in Ayrum. A special thank you to Hayk Sargsyan and his close circle of friends who initiated this project and approached us for partial funding. And a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to our matching fundraiser in 2020.
