Since 1999, the Paros Foundation’s principal supporters, the Strauch-Kulhanjian Family, have worked to raise awareness of Armenia’s rich culture and promote it on the world stage. Formally launched in 2006, the Paros Foundation is based in Berkeley, California, USA.
The Paros Foundation has earned a reputation as the “go to” organization to oversee project implementation in Armenia. Beginning with our support for seven exemplary local non-government organizations working with children, people with disabilities and the arts, the foundation works to help build a sustainable and vibrant homeland while improving living conditions for its most vulnerable populations. Our goal is to develop high quality high integrity non-governmental organizations in Armenia by significantly upgrading their working environment, providing guidance and needed resources. This includes providing inspiring office space, free of charge, to three of the seven organizations we work with in Armenia.
To facilitate volunteerism, The Paros Foundation launched its SERVICE Armenia program in 2013. This Armenia-based service program for teens and young adults provides participants an opportunity to travel to and experience all Armenia has to offer while helping make a difference. Donations to The Paros Foundation, a 501(c) 3 organization, are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. The foundation underwrites 100% of administrative costs, thus allowing all donor contributions to be allocated directly to the projects.
The Foundation welcomes the involvement of our friends around the world. We invite organizations and individuals to partner with us and utilize our on the ground resources in Armenia to implement valuable projects.
The Paros Foundation, a 501(c)3 private foundation registered in 2006 in Berkeley, California is not affiliated with the Ghazarian family’s Paros “Lighthouse” Armenian Charitable Foundation USA (registered 2009 in Seal Beach, California) or the Paros “Lighthouse” Foundation in Armenia and their center for abused women.
