The Paros Foundation is committed to the principle of service and volunteerism. SERVICE Armenia helps develop the relationship between program participants and Armenia. These month-long service trips are planned to include service projects, educational excursions and outings, and time for leisure and fun activities. The Paros Foundation staff responsible for this program has a tremendous amount of experience working in Armenia and successfully implementing and overseeing service projects and tours.

The Foundation welcomes families visiting and other volunteers to participate in the service work performed during the trip. Participants implement several projects, including helping renovate village school classrooms, and distributing humanitarian and educational supplies in rural communities.

The Paros Foundation will make sure that the participants’ summer experience in Armenia will be truly remarkable. In addition to planned service projects, a series of interesting lectures, meetings and group activities are planned. Participants will visit Lake Sevan, the Mother See of the Armenian Church at Etchmiadzin, historic and religious sites such as Garni, Geghard, Khor Virab and Noravank. An overnight trip will be organized visiting the majestic Monastery of Tatev and spending the night in Stepanakert, Artsakh.

The group will live, work, tour, and play together. Accommodations in Yerevan will be secured depending on group size in a rented home or apartments. Emphasis will be placed on well-located, clean and secure housing that will allow participants to cook meals and do their laundry during the program. Participants will be able to choose from eating at one of the many excellent Yerevan restaurants, or preparing meals for themselves on a daily basis. Participants will stay in hotels and receive meals during out of town service and tourist trips.

“What I loved about Service Armenia was that I saw the world in a different perspective and was exposed to my beautiful country. I am so thankful that I got the opportunity to aid those in need and to better the lives of many children. I got to experience the culture I once learned about and am truly humbled by it. I cannot wait to return.”
