Ghoghanj Children’s Center

Created in 2001, the Ghoghanj Children’s Center cares for and mentors children of severely economically challenged families in Yerevan. Their goal is to provide the proper support and guidance children need to excel in school and become self-confident and respectful young adults.

The staff is mostly comprised of professional teachers to volunteer their time and talents to help Armenia’s children.

The Children’s Center provides homework assistance, English classes and art programs for more than 70 students of hardworking single parent households or from socially dysfunctional families. At-risk students, as these children are commonly known around the world, gain a tremendous benefit from the guidance The Center offers.

Some of the children have social, behavior or physical disabilities. The Center places a great emphasis on the psychological and social development of the children. Students for The Center are recruited through working with local schools to identify children who would benefit from the services.

The Paros Foundation provides rent free, modern office space to house the Children’s Center, and we provide modest annual support funds to sponsor English and theater classes.

We are currently searching for sponsors to underwrite the following activities for these terrific children:

$150 to sponsor a child’s yearly participation in these exciting after school classes. Sponsors will be listed on the Ghoghanj Center's website.

$850 to sponsor the purchase of bookcases and chairs for the Ghoghanj office reception area.

$2,500 to sponsor the annual purchase of school supplies, materials, books, software and other supplies for classroom instruction.
